We provide a 3 year warranty on all our products. If it breaks under normal use within the warranty period, the warranty applies. The warranty applies from the date of purchase and excludes defects that are caused by the user or external parameters such as for example a lightning strike.

The receipt must be available for a warranty claim to be considered.

In the event of a dispute, we will follow the decision of the legal authority Allmänna Reklamationsnämnden in Sweden.

When buying from LightsOn, you always have the option to exchange or cancel the purchase at any time within 14 days from the date of receiving the item (this does not apply to companies).

To exercise your right of return, you must contact us within these 14 days. Returns must be sent in undamaged condition to LightsOn AB, Terminalgatan 3, 235 39 Vellinge.

Returns and Refunds
If you change your mind about your purchase, you are responsible for the return shipping costs yourself.

A condition for the the right to return an item is that the item is returned in its original condition. Refunds will be credited within 14 days of us receiving the return.

When you shop at LightsOn, you always have the option to exchange or return your purchase within 14 days from the day you receive the item (this does not apply to companies). To exercise your right of return, you must contact us within these 14 days. Returns should be sent in undamaged condition to LightsOn AB, Terminalgatan 3, 235 39 Vellinge, Sweden.

Return Shipping and Refund
When you cancel a purchase, you have to pay the costs for the return shipping yourself. The right of return is applicable provided that the item is kept in substantially unchanged condition. A refund will be made no later than 14 days after we have received the return.

Typical delivery time within Sweden is 1-2 business days after LightsOn confirms the order by email.

The freight corrier or customer Service will contact you if there is an unexpected delivery delay.

Of course, you have the right to cancel your purchase at any time. During the holidays, the delivery time may be slightly longer.

For deliveries outside Sweden, the delivery time may be longer.

If an item is faulty or defective, please contact Customer Service by email at support@lightson.se, describe your issue, and we will assist you. LightsOn follows the recommendations of the National Board for Consumer Complaints.

The deadline for pickup is usually 7 or 14 days.

Double check or contact your local pickup point how long they keep packages to be certain.

You may encounter issues with tracking packages you have ordered if you have provided the wrong phone number.

If you provide the wrong name, we cannot guarantee a smooth pickup at the agent.

If you provide the wrong delivery address, we cannot guarantee that the package will be delivered.

Kindly reach out to us via email or phone as soon as possible so we can find a solution.

If your purchase fails, verify that the account the card is linked to has sufficient funds on it and check if internet purchases enabled for the card.


If the problem persists it may be due to technical issues, kindly contact us directly via support@lightson.se 

Unfortunately, this is not something you can choose. Your order is automatically sent to your nearest pick up location.

You can track your order via the tracking link sent to the phone number you provided.

If for any reason you don't have access to the tracking link, kindly reach out to us and we will assist you.

If you choose home delivery, you agree that the delivery company can deliver your order even if you are not at home.

It is good to know that once the package is delivered to your home, the responsibility for the package is transferred to you.

Generally, orders that have already been placed cannot be changed. After receiving your goods, you can return the products you wish to send back.

In order for someone else to pick up your order, they must have valid IDs for both you and themselves.

Also, remember to have the tracking number / pickup number at hand.

All fixtures are marked with their wattage. The total wattage of the connected products must not exceed the transformer’s capacity.

For maximum lifespan, we recommend leaving at least 15% of the transformers capacity unused. Example 105W transformer: 105W - 15% = 91W maximum load.

Most of the fixtures have integrated (fixed) light sources. This is usually due to the technical requirements of each product. However, some of our fixtures do have replaceable light sources.

It is clearly indicated on both the packaging and in the online description whether the light source is integrated (fixed) or replaceable.

The cables do not need to be buried, but it will of course look neater if you cover them with bark, soil, gravel, etc. To avoid problems with the lawnmower, you can make a small cut in the lawn and tuck the cable a few centimetres down .

You can of course also pull the cables through pipes in the ground. This involves alot more work, but can be practical if, for example, you are building an entirely new garden.

Our cables do not need to be run through pipes or tubes, but in some cases it can be practical, for example when planning a new garden and the cables need to pass under a paved walkway.

It is important to ensure that the pipes or tubes are not laid in a way that creates water collection at any point. Otherwise, there is a risk that the connectors end up under water and may freeze and break during winter due to expanding ice.

The minimum diameter required to properly fit the connectors through is 22 mm. We recommend choosing a slightly larger diameter to make cable installation easier.

Junctions are difficult to handle inside pipes or tubes. Therefore we recommend to exclusively use standard extension cables where no lights are connected along the way.

The dimmer only controls the dimmable lights that are connected after it. We recommend not to connect products that are not dimmable, after the dimmer.

Most commonly, our customers split what is to be dimmed into a separate section with a splitter or T-connection. The rest is then not dimmed.

Of course, you can also buy multiple dimmers and connect one dimmer before each lamp.

Please keep in mind the dimmer's maximum capacity of 20W.

The same goes for the SmartControl dimmer functions. This product has a maximum capacity of 50W.

Dimming LED lamps is not as easy as dimming older conventional non-LED lamps. Not only LED lamp in question has to be dimmable, but the dimmer itself has to be compatible with the specific LED-lamp.

All lights are at least IP44 certified. This means that they can handle rain and snow, but may not survive a pressure washer or being fully submerged in water.

Cables and connectors are fully waterproof and can be placed both above and underground without risk for leaks.

In most cases you can. Check the capacity of the transformer and add up the total lamp wattage. The rest of the wattage is usable. But remember to leave at least 15% of the total capacity in your transformer unused for optimal life.

 

Absolutely, you can easily connect more decklights by adding more splitter cables after the first one. You can also branch out from one of the connectors if you do not want everything in a long row "one after another".

There is 100cm between the connectors on the splitter cable, and the deck lights have a 70cm cable on them. This means you have quite a lot of flexibility to place the lights where you want them.

For shorter distances: Let the splitter cable go as an "S" in order for the connectors to come closer to each other.

For longer distances: Connect an extra splitter cable and use every second connection. Adjust if necessary by, as above, laying the branch cable as an "S".

An all-in-1 is a complete package including a transformer and cables in addition to the lights. No extra parts are needed for it all to function.

We recommend that you only connect products from the same brand in your lighting system. This is because compatibility is not a given (type and level of voltage, cable dimensions, type of connector, etc.) between different brands. Additionally, the warranty issue may become problematic if something in the system breaks. What caused the failure?

If you still want to mix products from different brands in a lighting system, it's important to look at the specifications of all the products and ensure that they match and are compatible in terms of connections.

Yes, we do. To control our app-controlled / smart lights, you need to download the Smart Life app.

The technology behind the Smart Life app (Tuya) is a standard used by many brands. If you already have other smart products in your home, there is a good chance you can add them to the same system.

Most of the fixtures have integrated (fixed) light sources. This is usually due to the technical requirements of each product. However, some of our fixtures do have replaceable light sources.

It is clearly indicated on both the packaging and in the online description whether the light source is integrated (fixed) or replaceable.

All lights are equipped with high-quality LED light sources. The expected lifespan may vary, but you can resonably assume between 15,000–35,000 hours depending on the type.

Light sources used exclusively during the dark hours of the day can translate to a lifespan of up to 10 years.

Another important detail is that when a light source reaches the end of its expected lifespan (i.e. the stated number of hours), it still retains about 70% of its original brightness. This is how LED lifespan is technically defined. A slow decline in brightness as apposed to switching from on -> off.

It may also happen that a diode in the light source goes out, but usually this means that the LED light source will continue to shine well beyond its expected lifetime; just not at full brightness.

The light sources have a coulour temperature of 2700-3000K. This means warm white light, which gives excellent color rendering for outdoor plants and objects during the dark hours of the day.

There are also smart lamps that allow you to control the colour temperature and colour yourself.

Unfortunately, this destroys both the transformer and possibly the external product.

With an external control you can control the on/off but not dimming. Dimming of our lights is only possible on the 12V side.

If you want to adjust the brightness more or less permanently, we recommend our Dimmer that can be conveniently placed before your first decklight. However, this is a traditional one-button dimmer, not something you can control wirelessly. In other words, it is not suitable if you want to increase or decrease the brightness of the decklight every day.

If your transformer has stopped working, there is a chance that simply replacing the fuse will be enough.

The fuse is located under the plastic screw beneath the rubber cap on the top of the transformer. Replace it with the supplied spare fuse and screw the screw back into place.

Note that only our largest transformer (105W) has a replaceable fuse.

Luna has a replaceable light source. The light source is the standard type, called GU5.3 and is super easy to replace. Just open up the Luna housing by unscrewing and replace the bulb.

 

The light sensor is factory set to turn on at dusk. It does not have a sensitivity setting, which means you cannot adjust when it turns on. You might be able to get the sensor to turn on earlier by placing it in a more hidden spot, or alternatively, have a later activation if it's placed in direct sunlight.

Depending on the lighting conditions, the light sensor may turn on and off a few times at dusk / dawn due to sensor detection.

The light sensor has a delay of 60 seconds, meaning that if you cover the sensor, the light will not switch on until about 60 seconds later.

When your Smart Control is flashing blue, it means it is in pairing mode and trying to connect to another a device.

Add the Smart Control as a device in the Smart Life app, and the flashing will stop.

Yes, you can with some specific products.

Our ground spotlight Medusa has four colour filters: green, red, blue, and yellow. Note that these color filters are not compatible with our other products.

Our party string lights, Cosy, come with standard warm white light sources, but there is the option to purchase different coloured light sources.

For Arcus, one of our Bluetooth-controlled smart lights, you can choose from 16 million different colors.

We have spare parts available for almost all products.

In the products tab, under accessories, the spart parts category can be found.

The vast majority of our products are traditional and cannot be controlled via an app. However, we have introduced a few smart lights where you can, depending on the model, adjust the colour temperature from cool white to warm white, choose different colours, and dim the lights. This applies to the Nova and Arcus models, which are clearly marked with the Smart Life app. Control is via Bluetooth, so no gateway or router is required.

You can also make the entire system smart, or selected parts of it, by adding one or more SmartControls. Decide when you want the lights to switch on or off, and set the dimming level if you find the lights too bright (note that not all lights are dimmable). You can schedule specific times, or for example sunrise and sunset, and control everything from your phone with the Smart Life app.

SmartControl communicates via Wi-Fi, so it requires your network to reach the location where you place the SmartControl.

The Arcus and Nova lights use Bluetooth, which means they can be switched on and off, dimmed, and have their colours changed via the Smart Life app. These are the only available functions (see the lamp’s manual).

If you want access to additional functions such as timers, sunrise/sunset settings, etc., the lamp needs to be connected to the internet. To achieve this, an external gateway is required between the lamp and the home router. The gateway must be able to receive the lamp’s Bluetooth signal and then forward it to the router via Wi-Fi. It is sufficient for the gateway to reach the first lamp, after which the lamps communicate with each other. A gateway is an external product and not something provided by LightsOn.
